Is there easy access to internet while on the Maldives?

Yeah of course there is. If you stay at a resort then you have internet for sure, if you decide to book a Liveaboard then most of them have internet access too and if you are in the capital city of Malé there are also cyber cafes and stuff that give you easy internet access. So anywhere you might be in your vacation you have internet access for sure.
