Do you have to wear different clothing when you visit a local island?

yeah it is very important that you dress very conservative when you go to the islands that are inhabited by the locals. You have to remeber that they are muslims and it is of great interest for everybody to respect their culture and religion, plus they are very nice people!

When entering one of the amazing mosques that they have in the capital city of Male the legs and the body should be covered. This is something that your resort or liveaboard, upon taking the excursion, will inform you on anyway. The neck and the face don't have to be covered though.
