It’s hard to imagine a safer place than the Maldives; The most likely danger is sunburn; don’t ever underestimate the power of the equatorial sun at midday on a bright, cloudless afternoon. Other than that you have to be careful diving and when you do sports but just like any other place; and plus you will be with trained professionals at all times. The city is very safe but make sure you don't leave stuff unatended. And of course in your resort island you'll be as safe as in your backyard.

The biggest danger is when the Maldives casts its spell on you and make you not want to leave. A lot of its tourists have a hard time leaving this paradise. Who wouldn't to live in a country where the sun always shines and the water is always warm. :D
