None at all; the Maldives are a pretty peaceful place where the people live very humbly. They welcome tourists from all over the world and are pretty respectful of the people that visit them as long as the people respect them. They are very warm and friendly people in the Maldives.

Are the Maldives committed to any International environmental issues?

Sure they are, the Maldives are all about eco tourism because they want to preserve their environment which is not only their means to existence in a touristic point of view, it is also their home.

The Maldives is committed to environmental issues especially global warming. The Maldives is in danger of disappearing (going underwater) if the rest of the world does not do anything about it. They are taking steps and setting an example for the rest of the world to follow.
